Maharashtra Public Service Commission

Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a Constitutional Body, which conducts Competitive exam to recruit officers in the Maharashtra state services.

Examinations conducted by MPSC:

  • State Civil Services Exam or Rajyaseva Examination
  • STI / PSI / Assistant Section Officer in Mantralaya Examination
  • Maharashtra Forest Service Examination
  • MPSC Excise Sub Inspector Competitive Examination
  • MPSC Clerk Typist Examination
  • MPSC Tax Assistant Examination
  • MPSC Civil Judge [Junior Division] Judicial Magistrate First Class Examination

State Civil Services Exam or Rajyaseva Examination :

Educational Qualifications: Any Graduation or those appearing in final year of graduation can also appear.

Age: Minimum age 19 years, the maximum age 38 years. Maximum age relaxation OBC candidates (Max. 43yrs.) and SC/ST/NT candidates (Max. 43yrs)

Attempts at the exam: No Limit – You can appear every year till you cross the age limit .

Exam Pattern : 3 Tier Exam Prelims – Mains – Interview

Preliminary Examination: 400 Marks (MCQ Type) It consist of two papers, each of 200 marks.

There are total 6 papers in this exam, among them 4 are GS papers & 2 Language papers . The Exam pattern is as follows :

Interview: 100 Marks

The candidates clearing Mains examination are called for the interview. The interview is a test of the candidates personality, awareness of issues of state , issues of national & international importance, awareness of latest current affairs , Decision Making capacity & administrative acumen.

After selection, Candidate has to undergo 1 year Training.

  • Pre-Mains-Interview Integrated Batch – 1 Year Duration : For Graduates & Working Professionals . Separate Weekdays & Weekend Batch
  • Foundation Course for Undergraduates – 3 Years Duration : After 12th Std Every Sunday & selected Public Holidays.

Course content:

  • First Year (FY): Complete orientation of different officer level positions in Maharashtra state government . Overview of Functions & Role of Officers. Conceptual clarity of Pillar topics of Prelims Exams – History , Geography , Environment & Ecology , etc . Teaching students Time management & Stress Management Techniques.
  • Second Year (SY): Focus on topics of Mains Examination like Human Resource Development , Governance , Agriculture . Covering syllabus of English & Marathi language Mains papers . Complete orientation of Newspaper reading techniques .
  • Third Year (TY): Exhaustive preparation of Current affairs , with lectures of current national , international , economics , sports , etc related issues . Solving Test Series with discussion & doubt solving sessions . Revision lectures before appearing for Exams. Personality enhancement for Interview & mock interview sessions
  • Young Officer Program – 1 month duration : For 10th& 11th standard students Summer Vacation & Diwali Vacation Batches.
